Banyan trees (Ficus benghalensis) are one of my favorites. We are fortunate to have a small banyan forest here in Punta Gorda, Florida. Planted in the 1920's and now surrounded by a nice condominium complex ,these marvelous trees have survived several category 4 hurricanes, a few prolonged droughts
and seasonal torrential rains with flooding. Enjoy the photos, and if you get a chance, visit these noble trees.
