Polka-dot Wasp Moth

Polka-dot Wasp Moth (Syntomeida epilais).  Taken in our backyard here in Punta Gorda, FL by wife Olivia.  Kaufman's Field Guide says they are common, but it's the first one we've noticed.

  1. Thnaks Jill....I see these guys once in a while, but they sure don't hold still for very long. I find insects fascinating. Headed to Vietnam next week to join friend and entomologist to scour the flora and fauna of Cuc Phuong National Park....hope to image some interesting bugs.
