Birds of Manasota Key

Ruddy Turnstone (Arenaria interpres)

Snowy Egret (Egretta thula)

Manasota Key is a long, narrow barrier island in Charlotte County, Florida.  The north end has many large and expensive shorefront vacation homes (including Stephen King's).  Mid-island is Englewood's public beach, and at the south end is pristine Stump Pass Beach State Park.

  1. I was raised, part of my life, in Venice, Florida. I have often been to Manasota Beach, if that's the same. Also Casperson's we reached by ferry. I love Venice and have so many fond memories.

    I love to shell. I love to look a the birds, water, fish and listen.....
