Sea Oats (Uniola paniculata) is a species of grass used to stablilize the sand dunes of our Southwest Florida beaches.
These were planted about three years ago on the beach of Gasparilla Island State Park.
Gasparilla Island is one of the barrier islands protecting the Gulf Coast shore and Charlotte Harbor, both in Charlotte and Lee Counties, Florida.
Are the treasures of Pirate Jose Gaspar still buried in the sand of this barrier island?
